POAA was founded in June 2008 by two dedicated industry members, Tracey Foulkes and Jeanne Viljoen, who identified the need for an association to represent the greater voice of the Professional Organising industry in Africa.
The first management committee was elected by the members in 2009.
The first president and vice president were elected by the members in 2010.
